梅といえば、四君子（梅、菊、蘭、竹を指す）の一つでもあり、かつ歳寒三友（松、竹、梅を指す）の一つでもあります。

梅は、早春の雪の中で最初に花を咲かせる、その強靭さが中国で文人の理想の姿とされていました。

今日ご紹介するお皿は、大聖寺伊万里の片身替り松竹梅鳳凰文四方皿。

The unseasonably warm weather has brought the plum blossoms to their best time in Kojo Park in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, where Shinhara Fineart’s main office is located.

Plum blossoms are one of the “Four Princes” (plum, chrysanthemum, orchid, and bamboo) and also one of the “Three Friends of the Cold of Winter” (pine, bamboo, and plum).

Plum blossoms are the first to bloom in the early spring snows, and their toughness was considered the ideal of literati in China.

We’d like to introduce you to a square plate with a pine, bamboo, plum, and phoenix design.
